- Origin: found in the Arbuckle mountains of Oklahoma in 1964.
- Height/Spread: grows to 12 - 18ft tall and 18 - 24ft wide.
- Flower: a very heavy bloomer. Noted for its bright wine-red flowers. Darker and brighter than the species. Blooms for 2 - 3 weeks.
- Foliage: waxy, thick cuticles give the plant a heavy, shiny appearance.
- Shape: relatively short, rounded head.
- Soils: medium - well drained.
- Hardiness: zone 6 - 9.
- Comments: a hot favorite for many years, which remains today. Outstanding blooming make this without a doubt the best.
